EASTON & AUGUSTA

127 Days To Go!

How We Met

Augusta—better known as Gus—and Easton met the way many modern love stories begin: in law school. As classmates at Creighton Law School in Omaha, Nebraska, they spent their days navigating cold calls, case briefs, and the general chaos of becoming lawyers.

At first, Gus wasn’t exactly Easton’s biggest fan.

In fact, before they ever went on a date, Gus called her mom numerous times to complain about how annoying and agitating Easton was. Things didn’t get off to the smoothest start either. At one school event, Easton casually mentioned that he had blocked Gus on Tinder. Gus had an unforgettable reaction—loud enough for the whole event to hear:

“Do you know how many men wish they could match with me?!

Despite the rocky start, the two kept spending time together as friends. One night, after a group trip to the Omaha Zoo and a few drinks, something shifted. Gus called her mom immediately afterward with a surprising confession: something had come over her… and she suddenly wanted to kiss Easton.

Not long after that, Easton approached Gus with a very “hypothetical” question: what should someone do when asking a girl out on a date, and what should they do if she says no? Gus thoughtfully gave him advice—completely unaware that she was the girl in question.

Two days later, Easton put that advice to use and asked Gus to dinner at Blue Sushi in Omaha. She said yes.

What started as a friendship (with a little bit of arguing along the way) grew into something much bigger—and before long, they were taking on law school, life, and everything in between together.

The Proposal

Easton had the perfect plan… or so he thought.

One evening, Gus was at a work event when Easton realized the engagement ring had just arrived. Since Gus was usually home before him, the timing seemed perfect. He rushed out to gather supplies—candles, rose petals, and everything needed to set up the proposal.

Meanwhile, Gus finished her event and tried calling Easton. No answer. She called again. Still no answer.

Naturally suspicious, Gus refused to go home. Eventually, after a little encouragement (and some insistence) from her mom, Stephanie, she finally headed back.

When she walked in, she found candles and rose petals leading up the staircase. Following them upstairs, she discovered Easton waiting down on one knee in front of a glowing Christmas tree.

This time, Gus didn’t yell.

She said yes. 💍
